TOMRA RVMs at the Hebridian Celtic festival

A mobile recycling trailer with two T-63 RVMs and one standalone T-83 RVM ensured visitors to the Hebridian Celtic Festival were able to recycle their beverage containers.

The Hebridean Celtic Festival is an annual event that takes place in the remote Outer Hebrides on the grounds of Lews Castle overlooking Stornoway harbor. This year's festival took place July 17-20 and attracted approximately 15,000 people to the event.

TOMRA was present with one mobile recycling trailer which included two T-63 RVMs with compaction, as well as one standalone T-83 with compaction. A lottery incentive system was set up on all three machines for plastic bottles, aluminum cans and cornstarch-based plastic beer cups. Each item returned via our machines gave the recycler the chance of winning one of numerous prizes, such as Apple products, Festival tickets, clothing, and food and beverage vouchers.
